Three separate obligations, arriving on a fixed cadence, for the length of the term. Read that as a total rather than a weekly rhythm and the number stops looking modest.
The seminar is the component that breaks first, and it breaks for a reason that has nothing to do with the course. It is scheduled at a fixed hour, and a program built for working adults is full of people whose fixed hours already belong to a shift, a commute or a child. Missing it is not a failure of effort, it is a calendar collision that was visible in week one.
Most courses provide an alternate assignment for a missed seminar, and that provision is worth reading closely at the start of the term rather than after you have missed one. Knowing the alternate exists, what it asks for, and by when, converts a recurring panic into a scheduled piece of writing you can plan around or hand over.
002Where a ten-week term actually goes wrong.
The term is short enough to punish a bad fortnight and long enough that people relax in the middle. Four failure points repeat.

Purdue Global also offers a competency-based route, and students moving into it from the scheduled format are consistently caught out by the same thing. Removing the calendar removes the pressure that was doing the scheduling for you, and nothing replaces it automatically. Progress that came easily in a structured term stalls completely once no unit is due on any particular day.
What repairs this is scaffolding, not willpower. We set external deadlines with real consequences attached, sequence the assessments so the heaviest one is not last, and hold you to a cadence the school no longer supplies. That is a different engagement from covering a scheduled term, and it is priced differently.
