Essay feedback.

/ˈeseɪ ˈfiːdbak/  noun.  Editing performed against the marking criteria rather than against taste. Every change carries the rubric row it is meant to move, so the draft stays yours and gets measurably better.

001Feedback against a rubric, not against taste.

Most editing a student receives is unusable, and the reason is that it optimizes for the wrong reader. A general editor improves prose according to what reads well to them. A grader is not reading for what reads well; they are moving down a list of criteria deciding whether each one is met. Those two objectives overlap far less than people assume, and time spent on the first can leave every criterion exactly where it was.

So this desk works the other way around. The rubric is read before the essay. Each criterion becomes a question asked of the draft, and every edit we make is tagged with the criterion it is meant to move. You receive the marked draft and a short note per criterion saying where it currently stands and what specifically would raise it.

The practical effect is that you can see the trade. If one criterion is already at the top band, no effort goes there. If another is the reason the essay will lose marks, that is where the work concentrates, even if the prose in that section was perfectly readable to begin with.

002The four faults that cost more than grammar.

Grammar and citation errors are real but cheap, and they are the ones students worry about most. These four cost considerably more and are rarely visible to the person who wrote the draft.

003How a draft comes back.

Two layers, kept separate on purpose. Tracked changes carry the line edits: sentence-level fixes, citation formatting, and cuts where a paragraph is doing no work. Comments carry the structural notes, each naming the criterion at issue and what would satisfy it, phrased so that you can act on it rather than merely agree with it.

Nothing is silently rewritten into a different voice. The point of this entry is that the essay remains recognizably yours, which matters both for your own use of it and because a draft that suddenly changes register across sections is conspicuous. Where you would rather hand the writing over entirely than revise it, that is a different transaction and belongs to the research paper desk or class help.

004What we take.

Essays, research papers, reflective writing, case analyses, admissions and scholarship statements, capstone chapters and proposal sections. APA, AMA, MLA and Turabian, formatted to the edition your program specifies rather than the current one, since programs sometimes lag. Nursing and statistics drafts are reviewed by specialists in those fields, because a well-edited paragraph that misstates a clinical or statistical point is worse than an unedited one.

Turnaround is quoted honestly against the deadline you give us. Where a deadline is too close to do the work properly, we say so rather than accepting the order and returning something thin.

STEP_01

Send the draft and the rubric

Both. A draft without its rubric can only be edited to taste, which is the version of this service that does not work.

STEP_02

Take the criterion read

Within two hours: where each criterion currently stands in your draft, and a price for the editing pass.

STEP_03

Get two layers back

Tracked line edits, plus structural comments naming the criterion each one serves. You decide what to accept.

Questions.

How is this different from having the essay written for you?

Entirely different transaction. Here the draft is yours and stays yours: we mark it, explain what each criterion needs, and edit at the line level without rewriting your voice. Written work from scratch is a separate service with separate pricing. People often start here and move to the other, or the reverse, and both are normal.

What if I do not have a rubric?

Send the assignment prompt and the syllabus section describing how the work is assessed. We can work from the prompt alone, but the feedback is measurably less useful, since without criteria we are inferring what your grader values. If a rubric exists anywhere in your courseroom, it is worth ten minutes to find it before ordering.

Will you fix my citations?

Yes, formatted to the style and edition your program specifies rather than the newest one, because some programs lag deliberately. We also flag the more expensive citation problem, which is a source attached to a claim it does not actually support. That is a substantive fault rather than a formatting one, and graders in research-heavy courses notice it.

How fast can a draft come back?

It depends on length and the depth you want, and the quote carries the real date rather than an optimistic one. A short essay is usually same day or next. Where the deadline is too close for a proper pass, we say so instead of accepting the order, because rushed editing tends to catch grammar and miss the structural faults that actually cost marks.

How is editing priced?

By length and depth of pass, quoted individually and free. A citation and mechanics clean-up prices differently from a structural read against a full rubric, and most people want the second. Send the draft with its rubric and an itemized figure comes back within two hours with no obligation.
