Every paper here starts with a list rather than a draft: the sources proposed, each with a full citation and a sentence on what it contributes. You see it before drafting begins, which lets you check that they exist, that your library can reach them, and that none of them are things your instructor has warned the class away from.
This step exists because of a specific failure that has become common. Sources that look entirely correct in a reference list and turn out not to exist, or to exist and say something other than what was claimed, are the fastest way to convert a good grade into an academic integrity conversation. A grader who cannot find a citation does not assume a typo.
So the list is not a formality, it is the checkpoint. If you would rather supply your own sources, or your instructor has mandated particular ones, send them and the paper is built from those instead.
002Where research papers actually lose marks.
Rarely on prose quality. The deductions cluster in a small number of places, and the same ones recur across every discipline we work in.
- A thesis that describes a topic rather than making a claim. If the sentence cannot be disagreed with, the paper has nothing to argue and the rubric row for argument has nothing to award.
- Sources cited but not used. A citation parked after a claim is not an explanation of how that source supports it, and graders mark the second.
- A literature section organized source by source. Arranged that way it reads as a catalog; arranged by theme it reads as an argument, and only the second earns the synthesis marks.
- Counterarguments absent. Where a rubric mentions alternative perspectives, ignoring them costs a whole row that cost you one paragraph to satisfy.
- A conclusion introducing new material, which is both a rubric deduction in most schemes and a sign the paper was assembled rather than planned.
003How the work is assigned.
By subject, to someone credentialed in it. A paper on care transitions goes to a nurse, a paper on monetary policy to an economist or an MBA, a paper analyzing quantitative results to a PhD who reads output rather than recognizing it. This matters more in research writing than anywhere else, because a well-written paragraph misrepresenting a source is worse than an awkward one representing it correctly, and only someone inside the field notices the difference.

Revisions inside the original scope go back to the same writer. If what you actually have is a draft that needs to score better rather than a paper that needs writing, essay feedback is the cheaper order and usually the more useful one.
004Citation styles, and the edition question.
APA, AMA, MLA and Turabian, formatted to the edition your program specifies rather than the newest one, because programs sometimes lag deliberately and a grader marks against their own handbook. Where a program publishes local conventions that differ from the general standard, those govern, so send the program guide if one exists.
Where the paper is a chapter or section of something larger, a proposal, a capstone, a dissertation stage, it belongs to the long-form desk instead, which works in stages against a committee rather than against a single deadline. Ordering a dissertation chapter as a standalone paper is a common and expensive mistake, because the chapter has to align with everything around it.

How do I know the sources are real?
Because you receive them before the paper exists, as a list with full citations and a note on what each contributes, and you can check them yourself. This is the single most useful safeguard in the process, and it is standard on every order rather than something you have to request. If your library cannot reach one, say so and it is replaced.
Can I supply my own sources?
Yes, and it is common where an instructor has mandated particular readings or restricted the paper to course materials. Send what you have and the paper is built from those. Where your list has a gap the argument genuinely needs, we will tell you and propose an addition rather than quietly working around it.
What about similarity checking?
Papers are written from scratch for your brief, which is what similarity checking is designed to detect the absence of. What we will not do is advise on defeating similarity or AI detection systems, and we decline requests of that kind. Correct quotation and citation are what keep a similarity report clean, and both are standard here.
How long does a research paper take?
It depends on length and how much source work the rubric demands, and the quote carries the honest date. A short paper is usually days. Where the deadline is genuinely too close to locate and read real sources, we say so and decline rather than accepting the order and inventing references to fit the timeline.
